He began his career in the late 1990s at the Centre for International Relations in Warsaw. He continued his work at the Institute of German Studies at the University of Birmingham and the University of Wrocław. He was a visiting fellow of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik in Berlin. From 2008 to 2012, he worked as a columnist and Berlin correspondent for Gazeta Wyborcza. Head of the Warsaw office of the ECFR and Senior Policy Fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations. Among other things, he covers EU and foreign policy in Germany and Poland. His latest book Moslems and the Other Germans. The Reinvention of the Berlin Republic was published in 2011.
