He is responsible for policy in the areas of services, skills and recognition of professional qualifications; market surveillance (European legislation on products and consumer protection); coordination of relations with the EU Council and the European Parliament; communications, stakeholder relations, cluster policy, Entreprise Europe Network. From 2014-2021 he worked at the Directorate General for Communication Networks, Content and Technology, focusing on cyber security. From 2009 to 2013, he was head of the “Fight against organized crime” department at the Directorate General of Internal Affairs, responsible for fighting cybercrime, corruption, child sexual abuse and confiscation of criminal assets. He also worked at the Directorate General for External Relations, dealing with EU relations with Russia.
