Hanna Zdanowska – graduated in environmental engineering from the Faculty of Construction and Architecture at the Technical University of Łódź. Later, she built housing estates in Łódź – Retkinia and Radogoszcz – and ran a clothing company. Office director of the Łódź Chamber of Industry and Commerce for six years.
In 2006, she became a councillor of the City Council, then deputy mayor of Łódź, being in charge of education, sport and EU funds. In autumn 2007, she was elected to the Polish parliament representing the Civic Platform. She served as deputy chairperson of the Special Committee “Friendly State” for matters relating to the reduction of bureaucracy.
Since 2010, she has served a third term as Mayor of the City of Łódź.
Since December 2019, she has been a member of the European Committee of the Regions (ECR). In the current term of the ECR, she sits on the ENVE Committee – Environment, Climate Change and Energy, the SEDEC Committee – Social Policy, Education, Employment, Research and Culture.
She is a member of the ECR Green Deal Going Local Working Group, an ECR Climate Pact Ambassador and a National Ambassador for the Covenant of Mayors.
