Eugeniusz Smolar

Foreign policy analyst, former President and now a board member of the Centre for International Relations. Focuses on European security, the future of NATO and the EU, Eastern Policy of Poland and of the EU and Russia’s foreign policy. Political prisoner 1968-69, emigre 1970-1989. A co-publisher of Aneks Quarterly and of more than 100 books that were smuggled to Poland (1973-1989). Co-edited Uncensored Poland News Bulletin (1977–1989).

He took part in numerous initiatives aimed at reconciliation with Germany and Ukraine, dialogue with Russia and deepening integration of countries in Central and Eastern Europe. Initiator and long-term Chairman of the official Polish-Czech Forum.
