Member of the Committee for Defence of Democracy (KOD) and Campaign Against Homophobia (KPH). A historian, byzantinist and classicist. Academic teacher and deputy dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and History, Univ. of Łódź, a senator of the UL. Secr. of the Polish Byzantine Studies Committee (part of AIEB), co-initiator of the Ceraneum Centre and Polish Society of Ancient Studies.
