My name is Dariusz Joński. I was born on January 12, 1979 in Lodz. It is for Lodz and the Lodz Voivodeship that I have proudly worked since the beginning of my political journey.
In June 2024, thanks to the trust of voters, I was elected to the European Parliament on behalf of the Civic Coalition. In the EP, I belong to the European People’s Party (EPP).
I sit on the Committee on Transport and Tourism, and the Committee on Petitions. Of the former, I am vice coordinator. One of my main objectives of my presence in the European Parliament is to work for the development of Poland’s road, rail and aviation infrastructure. This is directly connected with the function I hold.
Before the European Parliament:
In 2006, I was elected as an alderman of Lodz. In 2010, I initiated a referendum that led to the dismissal of the then mayor of Łódź. In 2011, I was elected a member of the Polish Parliament for the first time.
In 2016, together with Barbara Nowacka, I founded the Inicjatywa Polska grouping, in which I serve as vice-chairman.
In 2019, I won a seat as an MP. In the 2019 – 2023 parliamentary term, together with Michał Szczerba, we conducted numerous inspections related to the clarification of political scandals under the government of the time. We wrote a book on this subject – “Great Harvest. How PiS stole Poland.”
In 2023, I again won a seat as an MP in the Sejm, winning 87,470 votes.
From December 2023 to June 2024, I was chairman of the Investigative Committee on Correspondence Elections.
In my activities, I try to involve the promotion of education, culture and the development of social initiatives. The security of citizens and the state are priority issues for me.
