Michał Wawrykiewicz – lawyer, runs a law practice in Warsaw. Since the beginning of the constitutional crisis, he has been involved in the defence of the rule of law. Expert of parliamentary teams e.g. for Constitutional Governance, author of opinions for BAS on laws concerning the judiciary. Expert for the LIBE Committee in the European Parliament. Co-founder of the #FreeCourts initiative and the Committee for the Defence of Justice (KOS). Defender and attorney for independent judges and prosecutors, before the CJEU and ECHR as well as Polish courts. Commentator on systemic issues in the media. Together with #FreeJudges, awarded, among others, the Teresa Torańska Newsweek Award, the Anna Laszuk TOK FM Award, the European Citizenship Award granted by the European Parliament and the Rule of Law Award 2022 granted by the Union Internationale des Avocats.
