Edward Reynolds is a Program Manager in the Space Exploration Sector at Johns Hopkins University’s Applied Physics Laboratory. For almost 40 years, he has been involved in the development of scientific space missions designed to improve our understanding of the universe that we live in. His most recent mission was as project manager for NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) which was the first mission ever to change an asteroid’s trajectory as a way to protect Earth from catastrophic impacts. DART is part of a larger international effort focused on planetary defense.
